The Reckoners- Songwriters Circle
February 12, 2010 - Slainte by the Pier
Ricardo and I are so fortunate to have an amazing group of friends and family who love our music and the opportunity to check out a live Vancouver show. When we accepted a gig at Slainte by the Pier in White Rock (which to a Vancouverite is SO far away), I was a little nervous to be stepping outside the comfort zone of a familiar crowd. There was nothing to worry about- we walked into a full restaurant and were happy to see many new faces and a few familiar friends as well. The night turned out to be quite perfect,- a casual evening kicked off by talented host Laine Henderson and 2 other singer/ songwriters with the added bonus of good food and wine. The evening was a mini folk-fest experience with all musicians on stage taking turns to play one song at a time. Ricardo and I sat on the stage between two very talented, yet very different musicians. It was such a treat to play a song, then have an opportunity to relax a little and be inspired by the other musicians. Stay tuned for a possible summer show at the same venue. The restaurant opens up to a beautiful patio with a view of the sea.Christina (The Reckoners)
